Atlantic Beach, NY

Atlantic Beach, New York is a small and quiet beach-side community bordering the New York City borough of Queens. The village is just 21 miles from Manhattan, less than 3 miles from JFK International Airport, and less than 6 miles from Brooklyn.

Atlantic Beach is located on Long Beach Barrier Island on the South Shore of Long Island in Nassau County. The Atlantic Beach Bridge spans Reynolds Channel, connected 878 in Lawrence, to the island. It shares the island with the town of Long Beach, East Atlantic Beach, Atlantic Beach Estates, Lido Beach and Point Lookout. The narrow island is approximately 1/2 mile wide and the Atlantic Ocean borders the east side, and the Reynolds Channel borders the bay side. The village is only 1.28 miles long.

Atlantic Beach is known for pristine private beaches, the boardwalk, and historic resort like beach clubs which were frequented by the Vanderbilts. The fictional character Sonny Corleone from the Godfather made his residence in the village. Scenes from mob hits Goodfellas, The Sopranos, and Boardwalk Empire were filmed at various beach clubs in the village.

Atlantic Beach is primarily a residential community with elegant beach-side homes. The quiet village has several restaurants and plenty things to do.
